Additional info:

Sonic grew up under the care of his Uncle Chuck in Mobotropolis, a big and beautiful city on Planet Mobius. His childhood years were pretty peaceful. He'd hang out with his friends, especially Princess Sally, eat a chili dog or two... Everything was hunky dory, at least until King Acorn's trusted warlord and minister of science, Julian Kintobor, took over. Using Uncle Chuck's roboticizer technology, Julian quickly took over Mobotropolis, roboticized nearly all the citizens, including Sonic's uncle and pet dog Muttski. Countless others became slaves to Julian-- now Robotnik-- who also sent King Acorn into the Void.

Luckily, Sonic and his friends made it to a place called Knothole Village, a sanctuary of sorts hidden in the Great Forest. While Robotnik pulled the rest of the planet into ruin with pollution, mechanization, and the roboticizer, Sonic and his pals became an acting force against Robotnik's tyranny and would combat him for years to come.

The bulk of the SatAM series takes place ten years after Robotnik's takeover. Sonic and the Freedom Fighters still fight Robotnik on a day to day basis, sneaking into Robotropolis to sabotage his machines and gather intel, protecting the rest of the planet, and searching for a way to stop the big, round guy once and for all.

They go on all sorts of adventures and make new friends along the way. Season 1 is largely episodic, but key events include Sonic reuniting with his Uncle Chuck and briefly restoring his free will with a Power Ring, discovering a map of Robotropolis, and learning that Sally's father is still alive. There's an episode where Sonic loses his speed and has to use his head, another episode where he learns to face his fears in order to save his friends, and he splits the stone that creates the Power Rings with another group of Freedom Fighters in roder to power their underground city.

Season 2 is where things get serious. In this season, Sonic finally restores his Uncle Chuck's free will, the Freedom Fighters find Sally's father again, and Sonic and Sally try to travel through time in order to prevent Robotnik's takeover. The climax of the series occurs when the Freedom Fighters team up with different groups across Mobius in order to put a stopper in Robotnik's Doomsday Project, which could destroy the whole planet.

In the end, it's all a success. Using the Deep Power stones, Sonic and Sally put an end to the Doomsday Project and defeat Robotnik once and for all... Or so it seems.

Unfortunately, the series ended on a cliffhanger, so it's unknown what would have become of Robotnik. One of the writers on the show stated that he'd end up in the void with Naugus, and it's clear that Snively would've taken the reigns for a little while. However, I'm taking Sonic right from the end of the final episode. His last memory's gonna be of celebration-- far as he knows, Robotnik's toast.

Personality: Sonic in the SatAM series is quite a bit different than his game counterpart. Rather than being a laid back guy who likes adventure, this Sonic is cocky, impatient, occasionally vain, and, as a whole? A nineties hero. On the surface he's a hedgehog full of attitude. This Sonic's the sort to make tons of corny remarks and use silly catchphrases, such as "Juice and jam time!" Most of the time he's pretty upbeat and prideful, acting as though being a Freedom Fighter and fighting Robotnik are a piece of cake. In the face of danger he'll rush right on through, opting not to plan ahead most of the time, for thinking, as he put it in the episode Sonic Conversion, gives him a headache. There are, however, times that he does use his wits; the episode Super Sonic was all about him relying on his brains rather than his speed. This is a lot rarer, and Sonic generally is quite proud of his "juice". His ego even causes him to argue with his best friend and "main squeeze", Princess Sally due to conflicts of concern... and his lack thereof when it comes to danger. Furthermore, he's often very impatient and will at times let it be known by tapping his foot and saying "I'm waaaaiting." Again, this may have to do with his eagerness to rush into things.

However, usually Sonic isn't just a ball of ego, at least around his friends and people he trusts. His heart's definitely in the right place, and he'd do just about anything to ensure that they're safe. He went through a lot of trouble, for example, to save his Uncle Chuck, who unfortunately became a robotic slave to Dr. Robotnik. Even after he'd lost his free will and trapped him in Mega Muck, Sonic tried his best to break through to his "Unc". Similarly, in Super Sonic, when he lost his speed he still rushed to his friends' aid even when the odds were much more against him. More importantly, Sonic actually has fears and regrets deep down. The episode Sonic's Nightmare addressed this, as he feared the thought of his friends being roboticized, a thought which hindered him until his friends snapped him out of it. Likewise, when he failed to restore his Uncle's free will in Ultra Sonic and later failed to restore his organic form in Sonic Conversion, he actually cried and expressed his true feelings on the situation.

In fact, he can be downright friendly. His relationship in canon with Tails proves this, as he treats the young fox as a little brother and, while he does still show his 'tude, he never is mean or pushy with Tails and generally just likes to hang out with him. Bunnie and Rotor, too, often see this softer side to Sonic, as does Sally... provided they aren't arguing. He's shown sympathy to her when her father had to return to the Void and told her to stay behind during the final episode for her own safety. Deep down he really cares for her, he just has an odd way of showing it at times.

Another thing about this version of Sonic is that he's got a bit of a sharp tongue. If he dislikes someone? He'll show it, by taunting them, coming up with crude nicknames like "Robutnik" and "Snerdly". He does have moments where he does express genuine anger, but most of the time he opts to poke fun at his enemies and exploit his speed and skills. Robotnik is one of his favorite targets... but his snappy remarks aren't just limited to his enemies.

Antoine, one of the Freedom Fighters, is someone Sonic constantly teases and antagonizes, albeit in a much more innocent way. With Antoine it's more of a rivalry and dislike, often tries to get Sally's affection, fusses over petty things like margarine, and is a coward at heart. Because of their rivalry and Antoine's many quirks, Sonic gets a kick out of scaring him and poking fun at his poor grasp of the English language. They bicker, they argue, but it's not really hate. And that's the thing with Sonic; it doesn't take much to annoy him, but for him to really hate someone you have to really do something bad. Even Ari, who betrayed his friends at one time, isn't an object of Sonic's hate, as with Griff, another who at one point tricked them. He's actually pretty understanding most of the time, which once again proves that there's more to him than his 'tude.

Lastly, Sonic has a very strong love of chili dogs. They're probably one of the only foods he eats, and he's shown to even have dreams about them.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ Even without his supersonic speed and hedgehog form, Sonic's still very athletic. Because he's been running all his life, he'll still have an edge over the average Joe, and he's got loads of stamina.

+ He's stealthy. After all, he and his pals did espionage in Robotropolis for years-- ever since he was a ten year old kid, apparently! Sure, he makes a habit of pestering his enemies, but he helped blow up some of Robotnik's factories, snuck into the prison chambers, and done all kinds of crazy things without getting caught.

+ Along with his stealth comes a level of cleverness. Sonic might not think things through a lot, but he's definitely crafty. One episode has him face to face with SWATbots, lasers flying straight for him, and he uses the lid of a trash can to bounce them back. And in the episode Sonic and Sally, Sonic mimics the voice of Robotnik to trick the prison cell into freeing "Sally". Then, in Sonic and the Secret Scrolls, he took advantage of a wind tunnel to blow Robotnik and Snively up, up, and away.

Plus, as a Freedom Fighter, he's been trained to live out in the wilderness. When he and Tails go camping in Ghost Busted, he shows him all sorts of tricks, like tracking and fishing. Given these facts, Sonic's probably a lot smarter than he lets on. Not genius smart, but smart in his own way.

+ Call him arrogant, call him a fool, but when it comes to his friends, Sonic always pulls through. He's very loyal and will do just about anything to help out his pals, even if it means taking serious risks. Just look at Sonic Conversion, where he helped his Uncle Chuck fight Robotnik's control. He'd turn back time, throw himself right into Robotnik's clutches, and probably bite the bullet just for the sake of his pals and the planet.

+ And while he is stubborn, that's not always a bad thing. He's the kind of guy who never gives up unless a situation's truly hopeless. Not necessarily the kind to make shounen speeches, but he'll keep trying and trying to achieve his goals until he finally pulls through.

+ Oh, and he can swim pretty well, unlike his game counterpart.

- His ego. Sonic is very vain at times, and it sometimes puts others off... or they just don't take him seriously. He's very proud of his speed, proud to be a hedgehog, and often acts like he's too cool for words. Because of this, he tends to jump into a situation without fear and doesn't always consider his own faults... which really does a number on him whenever he screws up or a plan backfires. The biggest example was when his Uncle Chuck turned back into a robot and Bunnie became a cyborg again. It caused a lot of trouble for the other Freedom Fighters and himself. Even when Uncle Chuck got his free will back, it took Sally's encouragement to lift him up again.

- He doesn't always pay attention to details. Whenever Sally brings up technical terms or jargon, it almost always goes over his head. Likewise, he had to tell NICOLE to speak "in English" when Sally and Bunnie got sent to the void. There are times where you really have to nail information or ideas into his head for it to stick, especially given his lack of patience.

- And Sonic is very, very impatient. He hates waiting around and seldom stops to smell the roses. Because of this, he's incredibly impulsive and tends to act before he thinks. Sonic's the kind of guy who gets right in the face of danger, and there have been times where he's cut it really close, nearly getting killed or roboticized on more than one occasion. Though he usually pulls through in the end and definitely can come up with some clever plans if he puts his mind to it, the fact that he prioritizes speed and action over risks causes more harm than help.

Samples
First Person Sample: [The feed clicks on to a disgruntled looking teenager with spiky, blue hair. In the background, there's a series of yowls and screches... probably from some kinda Pokémon. But right now, Sonic's not too worried about that.]

So, this machine's for talkin', right? Kinda reminds me of NICOLE... if NICOLE was some kinda computer-phone dohickey.

[He scratches his head for a second. ...Yeah, he's getting a little off track, huh?]

Anyway, if anyone sees this, I've got a few questions for you guys. First of all, whose bright idea was it to turn me into a human and sap up my speed? No offense, but I'm a hedgehog, and juicin's my game. I already lost my speed once, and there's no way I'm gonna let this slide!

[He shakes his head, placing his free hand against his hip.]

And what's up with this place? First some lady acts like she's my mom, and now there's this mondo weird music playin'. Did somebody drop their radio somewhere? 'cause it's really getting old. If you're gonna leave the music on, at least make it something fast! Something cool. You gotta put the pedal to the medal and amp it up!

[He could ask about the monsters, but he's skimmed the guide... a little. And he could end it here, there's one more thing he's gotta check. After all, if he's here...

Right. Always worth a shot!]

And guys, if you're here? Lemme know ASAP! We Freedom Fighters have to stick together!

Third Person Sample:

This just wasn't his day. Figures that everything would go wrong right after he'd finally done that old, round scuzz bucket in. It's not that Sonic was adverse to new places-- not even close! If given the chance, he'd scope out this whole area without a second thought. It was cleaner than most places on Mobius, had way cool monsters, and best of all, it was something he'd never seen before. So what was the problem?

Oh, there were tons of 'em. Waking up as a human had to be his biggest beef with Johto. It's not that humans were bad or anything, but Sonic always prided himself in his 'hedgehog perfection'. He was born as a speeding, blue rodent, and he was proud of it! The extra height wasn't so bad, but he didn't even have his quils-- just hair. His proportions were all off, and it took him a while to adjust to his new center of balance. Worst of all, when he tried running, he couldn't come close to his normal speed!

When he tried to ask around, the people in town acted like he was crazy. They didn't know about Mobius, Robotnik, or anything like that! But the time he got fed up with it, Sonic had one big, whopping headache.

So here he sat on Route 29, away from the town, but not too far. With his Pokégear in his pocket and a Pokéball in hand, he let out a sigh. Nearby, some kind of... cat-weasel thing darted around, chasing after some birds. Pidgeys or something? It's what the weirdo machine said. He'd fiddle with it later and take another look at that guide, too. Maybe once he got a move on. Adventure was right up his alley, weird world or not. And what good would complaining do? He could fuss over being a human, but it wouldn't magically turn him into his good old hedgehog self.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going, and Sonic was no chicken. He tossed the Pokéball up and down a few more times, and then he finally got up on his feet. His new partner in crime waited for him just a few yards away, and he wasn't about to let the little weasel beat him to the next town! Speed or no speed, hedgehog or not, Sonic never backed down on a challenge. And so he slipped on his 'pack, took a deep breath, and took off into the unknown!
